You Can't Always Get What You Want

You can't always get what you want.  In fact, you can't even sometimes get what you want, especially if what you want is a decent credit score or Michelle Obama arms. 

Most things in life take hard work, dedication and discipline to achieve, which is why compulsive gamblers are so successful.

You Can't Go Back Home Again

The carefree memories of your childhood only exist in your mind, because young brains are too naive to recognize alcohol poisoning,  compulsive gambling, and emotional terrorism.  Going home again, you realize that the bars on your windows weren't a fun design choice and that everyone knows  you as the son of Larry, the arsonist.

You can never really go back home, especially when it was razed to build a Best Buy or your mom has a restraining order.

Assimilation

If you dare to be different, you're basically asking to be stopped in every "random" safety search and airport security line for the rest of your life because America likes assimilation.  When the Indians wouldn't assimilate, they were quarantined and driven to gamble, so losing your cultural identity is just easier.

If your complexion isn't pale, it's important to wear your jeans the right way and to laugh at the right social cues.  Save any garb and creativity for the bedroom where no one can judge it.
