Like vs Love

Being liked means you're doing enough to please others on a daily basis, while being loved means you're just beating the law of averages.   Being liked means people want to be around you, while being loved means people don't want you to fall down the stairs or go bankrupt, so it's better to be liked.

Your parents and pets can love you, but strive for coworkers, toddlers and passersby to like you because that's the daily validation you crave.
