Mondays

Mondays ruin your Sundays because you spend most of Sunday actively dreading them.  Mondays are the day when you look at the clock the most and think about your real life, the one you lead on Saturday when you're not being held prisoner by three half walls and the promise of a paycheck. 

Mondays mornings are also usually the only time in the week when you're actually low carb, before you crumble and hit the drive thru for lunch.

Multitasking

Multitasking means performing many different tasks at one time, usually none of them very well.  It is generally said that women are better multitaskers than men, which tricks them into taking on more work.

In many instances, obvious multitasking buys you some peace.  Sit at your desk typing an email, listening to news radio, talking on the phone and finishing the Annual Company Picnic flier and no one is going to ask you to come in for Linda's birthday cake, which is fine because you think Linda is catty and you're trying to lose weight so men will be attracted you again after the hysterectomy that robbed you of your femininity even though the doctor insists it's all in your head.

Thinking for Yourself

When you don't feel like thinking for yourself, there are many people chomping at the bit to think for you.  Some are looking to sell you cosmetics or time shares, while others would like you to join them for education on the compound.  Regardless of their reason, you won't have to go to the trouble of thinking for yourself.

The mind is powerful and complex, like carbohydrate cravings and like carbohydrate cravings, the mind is difficult to control.  Let go, let someone else control your mind, and catch up on TiVo.
